Good eye, jjimson! Yes, I desaturated the wooden pier on the right as it was mostly black and the areas that had color were distracting and definitely not attractive!

I think they preen for you! This is absolutely wonderful. The second picture, again, captures the essence of the bird. I like the blurred effect on his /her wing.

All of the above comments are understatements. #2 is an absolute corker with Peli's B&W textured wings so natural and so perfect. You cant help but love this beautiful bird! And this beautiful portrait. Well Done.
