Stockholm Syndrome. But not at all...

2008.07.13
This was at a gas station in Jönköping. That behind the neat looking structure if a huge lake. Really huge.

This was at the Vasa museum. So the Baltic allows for great preservation of wreckage because of its low salinity that doesn't support destructive organisms. The ship is around 400 years old and 95% of it was salvaged about 40 years ago. It's a crazy ass ship, and was supposed to be used to attack the Poles but it had too little water in its ballast and sunk about 20 minutes after being on water. Which sucks because this thing was amazing, what with the hand crafted-ness. But anyway, it's a "historical feat" or whatever, so they made a museum for it. Sounds lame, right?

This is this tower in the centrum. It's all lit up and stuff at night (that lasts a total of around 2.5 hours there). Behind it is the massive amounts of shops, in front of it is the historical part. It's okay.

There is this book Signspotting, and they just take funny signs from all over the world and put it in a funny book so we can all laugh at how stupid other cultures are. This one was one of my favorites. It makes a lot of sense after taking a year of Chinese.

This isn't the best picture of the capitol castle that I've taken but it has me in it so everyone (or nobody) who reads this can enjoy my appearance. I'll tell you one picture I took is a really neat one of the guards that have to stand and watch over everything like in England. I took the picture from afar so I wouldn't make him feel even more like shit.

Another photo opportunity. This is in the "old town," which was a short walk from our hotel. It's neat, mostly shops and some things like the Nobel Museum or whatever. Again, none of these are as important as me.

I didn't even know this picture existed because I didn't think anybody brought a camera to the club, I sure didn't. But apparently my cousin took some pictures when she left. This is outside the club when the left around 12:00 or so. It was pretty empty, and later it was too packed to move. It was neat, it was outside on this castle-like building that overlooked a nice part of Stockholm and a bunch of the little fjord-like inlets. The music was really neat, I'm not usually a fan of house music but this progressive electro-house kind of hit the spot perfectly. I drank too much, met a lot of people, and managed to not make a fool of myself. I haven't had the pleasure to do so in such a long time. I met people from all around Europe, which was neat. Those lights changed colors probably like every 10 minutes. It was neat.
