You can't see it very well in this photo but there are actually pallets piled up that are holding the back corner of the building up!

Okay...this is another view for all of you that saw soldotnamandas post of Rock and a Hard place...this little cabin is a crack up!! It was built intentionally this way (obviously Alaska has NO building codes! It is about 3 miles out on the beach from Captain Cook State Park...and the first time I walked around the bluff and saw it from a distance I thought - "no way, can't be!" As I got closer I just started to laugh...only on a beach in Alaska!!
There is an older couple that uses it in the summer - they have a set net sight out there on the beach and they live in it all summer. I met them last summer when I was walking out there - I was dying to ask them about the place but didn't want to offend them in any way!
I thought it might be goofy to comment . . . but I LOVE THESE PICTURES. I had no idea it was held up with a little bit of re-bar! Look at the sunshine and the bright blue sky and a beach!!!!!!!!! ahhhh. Great shots and kudos for walking the distance it takes to see this house.
