Church of Dormition
2008.01.18
This is listed as the Church of Dormition. It sits in Old Town Kenai about a block from a building listed as the Russian Orthodox Church. The Russian Orthodox Church is much bigger but both buildings have the same spires at the top. I am sure they are in some way related - but don't know the official connection. This one was built in 1846 and has been refurbished I believe in the 80's.

This just went in my favorites. I'm enamored with photography of churches, but it's hard to find ones that speak to me. This one speaks to me. Thank you for sharing it.

What a fantastic looking building! The criss/cross logs, the neat steeple, the white picket fence ... all fantastic. Maybe you could do me a favor and snap this one when its dusk at midnight in the middle of summer? I can imagine its beauty then too! Fantastic shot, as always!

Superb winter lanscape. Old churches definitely are a perfect subject in this kind of shots. I really love the light here. Good composition too. Superb.

i cant believe the life you get to live...and the sights you get to see everyday! so breathtaking! makes me wanna move to alaska! although when it gets below 50 here i FREEZE...dont know how id do there...lol
