Well, today (Halloween) we embarked on our hunting trip to Kodiak Island, Alaska. There's a bit of a change from my previous 4 or 5 Halloweens. We left Wasilla about 7 am, our flight from Anchorage was about 10 am, and our flight from Kodiak to Spiridon Lake was about 1 pm. Got out to the our site and set up camp, even though it took us two beavers (deHavilland Beavers = float planes) to get to the lake. What a great ride too, no wonder why it is called "The Emerald Isle". After we set up camp, Nathan (my younger brother), Scotty (our friend and neighbor), and I went for a quick evening hunt, to no avail. It was great though. Came back to camp, ate dinner, drank beer, and sat round the fire.
What a great day.

(PS- I had been deer hunting at Spiridon Lake 13 years ago- when I was 13. That trip was with my Dad, older brother Aaron, neighbor Scott (Scottys dad), and the late great Steve Wiley (Dads best friend and as close as an Uncle). This trip is my two brothers (Aaron and Nathan), Dad, Scott, and Scotty, and to the same place and same camp site. Stay tuned for a weeks worth of pics!)
