This insect walks on water and hence its name. When you look at the shadow the place where legs are in contact with water appear round in shape, that was quite puzzling. Can any one explain ?

Thinks he`s using the surface tension on the water to support him and his weight squishes it slightly but doesn`t break it and its the Earths tilt on its axis relative to the sun which means we get longer shadows in the winter, I think! Cool pic though. :-))
