Paper bag

2007.09.12
In The Netherlands, one can collect old paper and dump it in special units on the street. For three years, I had an ugly carton box in my kitchen in which I collected my old paper. I knew these paperbags made from old posters existed, but I couldn't find them anywhere anymore and thought they were outrageously expensive. And whatta you know: not far from my house a designer store is selling these paper bags (this size is 16 euro)! I was extra pleased because the image of this one is related to my work. A few times a week, Dutch companies call me for information about European subsidies aimed at strengthening the economies of the new EU-member states and other less developed EU-regions. Designer: Jos van der Meulen, www.josvandermeulen.nl

As from 27th August I daily want to show little hints of my appartment and its surroundings. Next to a picture a small story comes along about the objects-subjects. I mean: behind every image there is a story and behind every story there is a person. And that idea I like! I hope you will enjoy following these pictures and stories as much I hope to enjoy making them. And although I am not very materialistic, I do hope to look at the things surrounding me differently along the way.
