My Exhibition Proper

2007.12.11
[above: the Children's Collective shows off their Gloria and Uncle Sam masks.]

[above: Liza Calubad has not heard from or seen her brother and father since they were taken by the military in 2006.]

[above: this is Liza's niece 'Sugar,' she's lost her father and grandfather.]

[above and below: CRC has many clients that are the children of accused Abu Sayaff terrorists. Many can barely remember their fathers who have been imprisoned for 5-6 years without a completed trial. One of the fathers was killed in his bed during a prison siege in 2005.]

[above: Urban militarization in Manila's squatter areas has been a fact since spring of this year. This has resulted in the intimidation of residents, or worse. These girls, and fifteen of their friends, were abducted at the end of an M16, beaten, and forced to sign confessions that they are gang members.]

[above: Bimbim is one of twelve young men who were arrested and imprisoned as minors. They are accused of murder, kidnapping, bombing, and other acts of terrorism (one of whom was only 12 when he is claimed to have kidnapped 52 people). Torture was used to obtain their confessions. They have been in adult prison since 2002. One died during the 2005 seige I mentioned earlier. Just on 7 Dec (see an earlier post) one of them was convicted of the Dos Palmas, Palawan kidnappings of 2001 and sentenced to 800 years in maximum security.]

[above: Bicutan Prison where the accused Abu Sayaff Muslims are held.]

[above: During a CRC event inside Bicutan Prison.]

[above: During a CRC event. A muslim woman and a Dutch social worker volunteering with the CRC help with an art therapy workshop.]

This is how the exhibition for the PATAC event 8 Dec 07 should have looked.

My apologies again (see previous post).

Regards,

alex felipe

MarcoCastagnaro Thank you. It goes on my favourite...you should be on the Front Page...everybody should see your reportage. This is not a matter of photography (even if your pix are great)!
