Our Lovely Flower Girls, how can anyone not love them?!

2008.09.13
There's a potential adopter looking for 2 medium size female adult dogs,
so Sally put Daffodil and her sister Petunia on the list.
Today we have to get back to the kennels for the adoption interview.
We get up early at 6am to have a morning walk to warm up.
Daffy is like shouting out, "I will try my 'breast'!!!"

This is Daffy's favourite walking route,
so I name this road Daffy Road~

On the way, Daffy tells me she's thinking about going to HKU to further her studies, but I say NO!
HKU is very dog-UNfriendly, the campus blocks our neighbourhood's access to the walk to the hill, but they even don't allow dogs just to walk through. And the security guards are very rude to dogs and dog owners.
So I tell Daffy, no HKU, let's think about Cambridge or Harvard~

Then Daffy gets back to the kennels and reunions with her sister, Peta,
after being seperated for 2 months.
I take them for a walk to warm up.
They walk very well together.
They are the most lovely pair of sisters!

These flower girls are very much connected.
They always do the same thing together~

I didn't realize until I see these girls together,
Peta is bigger, fatter but shorter than Daffy.
Daffy looks so slim and small when she's standing next to Peta.
And Daffy has a lighter skin tone, with a funny pink nose, whereas Peta looks darker, may be just because she always lies in the mud and get dirty.
And look, these girls got the same tail, they are definitely sisters!

Our volunteer, Yanki, is so nice to bring an expensive shampoo (left by her beloved Sai Sai) to wash Peta before the interview.
Probably this is the first bath ever for Peta.
But she seems enjoying it and behaves very well.
And she smells vanilla after the bath~

Though offering no tips or any compliments, we firmly believe Peta loves the service of Yanki, and would come back to have another 5 star treatment soon. hehe

Sally says it's better to greet the adopter outside the kennels, so he can spot the flower girls easily.
So Yanki and I take them out and wait for the adopter.
And we wait and wait and wait...

But it's too hot outside, so we bring the flower girls back to the kennels, and they sit together quietly by the gate and wait...
See how adorable this pair of sisters is!
How can anyone not love them???
Finally, the potential adopter shows up...
then rushes out in 10 mins...
Well, all I can say is there's nothing wrong with our flower girls.
They behave very well!
Turn out the adopter is a bit different from what we expect...
Nevermind, I know our flower girls deserve something better!!!

Happily, we do have a good ending in the morning.
Jasper, the lovely big boy got adopted by this very nice couple!
They have a cat and a dog at home, both 17 yrs old, and are both adopted. How nice!
So we are very sure Japser will be spoiled and have a happy life ever after.
Lucky boy!

Jasper's new owners just live nearby and they promise to bring him back to visit us.
We will miss you, funny big boy!

I can smell the vanilla shampoo from the photo! The sisters are so cute! Keep up your good work at HKDR!
