Day 38

Wow, what a day let me tell you WHAT! I don't know where to start, so I'll start from the beginning. This morning Ryan drove me to school and pretty much said the travel plans would have to be canceled. It had snowed a lot overnight and was still snowing. It was forcast to continue snowing until after 7PM, great. Around 11am I saw that the snow had stopped. I can't tell you how happy I was. We'd been planning this trip since last year, I didn't want it to be cancelled!

It didn't snow again all day, but I found out that Lookout Pass (on the freeway between Montana and Idaho) was closed. GREAT! I went to my classes barely hanging on as far as concentration goes, I checked again around 4:15 and saw that the pass was open! Ryan came to pick me up about 4:30 and asked if I still wanted to go, I was like well hell yeah!

Everything was packed and ready to go so we got on the road. I was excited for no particular reason. We didn't really have a game plan as far as all that we would do, just that we were going to go to Couer d Alene (where I was born) maybe go to a movie, do some shopping at the outlets and then go to my dad's in Priest Lake. The roads were clear until a town called Haughen. Then it was snow pack and snowing. We were going about 15 miles per hour in places it was so bad. We hit a high speed of 30 in other places. There were a lot of semi trucks. One of them about ran us into the ditch, he had a whole lane to the left of him, but he wanted our lane, dumbass!

We got into Coeur d Alene about 8:20 PM Idaho time (we're an hour ahead so we gained an hour) We were both starving but we wanted to check into our motel before finding a place to eat. We checked into the Shiloh Inn Suites ( Ryan suggested when we were planning that we stay at a nicer place, but I didn't see the point in spending a buncha money for basically the same thing, and he thought the same thing too) We checked into our room, it was huge with a king size bed, a couch sitting area etc.

We left looking for Red Lobster. It was hard to find things because the snow on the side of the roads was piled up 6 ft high in places! We found Red Lobster and went in. It was close to 9PM and there was almost no one there! Ryan got the Lobster, crab and 2 kinds of shrimp and I got double crap and shrimp scampi, man it was good! We ate until we were about to explode! I had to get a to go box. We left the restaurant and went driving around. I showed Ryan where my mom used to work, where my dad used to live, etc. We wanted to go in a Target or K Mart to mess around and maybe get a board game but everywhere was closed. We decided to head back to the hotel.

I had a reaction to onions the night before so my skin was still somewhat itchy. I decided to take a bath and Ryan said he had "things he promised to finish up for work." I didn't htink anything weird was going on since he's always doing things for work. I finished my bath and came out. I figured I'd finish eating my crab legs since they probably wouldn't taste so hot in the morning (even though we had a fridge in our room!) Ryan flipped through the channels and asked if I wanted to order a movie. I said that it was getting late, about 11:30 PM, so that we should just watch some TV. He found Family Guy, our favorite show, how convenient. He asked me if I wanted to see the website he made at work that day and I said sure.

He brought the laptop over to the bed and loaded the site www.ryanldunn.com. I said Oh, you made your website. He bought the domain name when he bought the one for my Sims 2 site back in November. The first page had a picture of us, the next, the next. I sort of wondered why he wanted me to keep going through page after page of pictures I'd seen many times. Then the last page loaded. It said Amanda, Will You Marry Me. With this picture of a ring. I looked at him and looked back at the screen. I was all Oh my god are you serious? Are you kidding me? Oh my god! I was bawling and he said yeah. He grabbed a ring box out of his pocket and handed it to me. Holy crap, I couldn't believe the size of that rock! I told him to put it on me and I couldn't stop hugging him. Then I said, did I even say yes yet, then he said no so I was all YES! Haha, yeah I'm a spaz. I mean after talking about it for so long, you just, I don't know, you think you'll know when to expect it, but I was totally oblivious! He said he though that I thought he was up to something, guilty conscious of his haha.

Yeah, it was a great night, I couldn't be more happy to become Mrs. Dunn-to-be!!
