Tap Back In Time: Day 29

2008.02.16

I was doing a lot of overdue cleaning today, when I came across my daughter Amber's old tap dancing shoes. She took tap lessons for just a little while when she as five. These shoes transported my thoughts to when she was little girl and how much joy she has brought to my life as she's grown. She is fifteen now and growing into a lovely young lady. I am proud to be her mother and her friend.

I Hope You Dance
written by Tia Sillers and Mark D Sanders

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty-handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance, I hope you dance

I couldn't decide which picture to post, so please let me know your preference.

Thanks,
Julie

focussed I can just hear the tapping!!! I have been planning on doing a smilar set with some ballet shoes which are stored somewhere at my moms place. I keep forgetting to look for them every time I go there....Thanks for the reminder and renewed inspiration ;)

oldbabe I prefer #1 but both with lyrics are a beautiful tribute to your daughter.

I have a beautiful daughter named Amber too. She never danced but played sweet music on a violin.

Ah, again, this is just wonderful!

kimauman Nice little vignette--I always get nostalgic going through my children's baby clothes. I have boxes and boxes and can't seem to throw anything away!

mintra Lovely set, ove the idea, nice shoes :)

kware I like the softness of the second one, also the more brown tone of the wood makes the shoes pop more. Great photograph!

bamommy Love both photos. I'm sure they are just so cute!

PaperWings I think I like the b/w best, although both are good. It seems more sentimental in b/w. Awwwww...I need a daughter!

jenjung I love the first one. I tapped for a little bit in school...miss it.

Anjie Hard choice, but I think I favor #1, love the soft edging focus in both though....beautiful!
Isn't it always a trip down memory lane when you start cleaning out children's rooms? I start off thinking I'll get this done fast, but that's never the way it ends up, lol
That's one of my all-time favorite songs! I can't listen to it without a tear though ;-)
