Tools of his passion: Day 34

2008.02.21
If the only tool you have is a hammer,

you tend to see every problem as a nail. Abraham Maslow

If you enjoy tools of every kind, crafting things from your imagination, and just piddling in your garage or tool shed, then my father-in-law's home would be your paradise. All his tools and gadgets are neatly organized. It's like a little hardware store, only personalized. He has crafted everything from bird feeders to poker tables, and always has several works-in-progress spread about. He is willing to share his latest creation from how he came up with the idea, to the way he has put it together. I always enjoy his stories because it is apparent the pride and love he puts into his work.

The smell of fresh wood permeates his garage - which I LOVE, and tonight I was really inspired by his set up. I will surely post more of his garage haven and his creations.

I love the shadowing of the nail in the second.

kimauman Funny that I thought it was a Lent message--but I liked the 'still lifes' which in your father-in-law sets to action. Nice touches.

oldbabe Great post. I love both pics and the saying. Also didn't know there were so many different kinds of hammers or nails so big ;-)

It must be nice to have a handy-man in the family. All we have are guys that know how to use masking tape to keep things together!
