I was a couple of days behind checking my mail, and the mailbox was rather full. Some days I just don't want to deal with it! I get really tired of sorting through all the junk mail - what a waste of time and paper.

According to the US Postal Service, in 2005, US Postal workers delivered over 100 billion pieces of first-class mail. They also delivered over 101 billion pieces of junk mail. It was the first bulk mail, or year junk mail exceeded regular mail.

It would take as many as 100 million trees to provide enough paper for that many pieces of junk mail according to the Center for A New American Dream.

Okay, that's my little rant.

I can TOTALLY relate.... I hate getting mail any more, there is almost NOTHING worthwhile... all my bills are auto pay, no one writes letters, therefore if it's in the mailbox chances are it's JUNK! Okay, that's MY rant. :-) DancingDolphin · 2008-05-29: 21:43

Oh, I SO agree with you! I get a staggering amount of junk mail, and it's so frustrating. I have twice this year thrown out bills or statements I needed, because most of my mail goes straight from the mail box to the trash, unopened. Grrr! ScubaLiz · 2008-06-10: 11:35
