We usually have our morning meeting in a circle seated on the carpet, but the carpet now has student desks on it. We are now having a standing-room-only morning meeting Our class's enrollment is up to twenty-seven as opposed to our regular eighteen.

Thankfully, we found out this week that the district is sending relief. We will get a new fifth grade teacher to lower our teacher/student ratio.

The hard part is we don't have to much of a choice of who we will get. It will probably be someone from a school where the enrollment is down and is losing a teacher. So this means we will get a teacher who has already set up his/her classroom, and is just now finding out s/he has to leave. So it is fair to say this teacher will not be excited to be here.

We are strong team, and we will help to make this teacher feel welcome at our school!

I'm trying to remember how many kids were in my class in elementary school - I do remember being in one of those classes that had two grades in it. Well, it's good that you are getting another teacher and hopefully they won't be too unhappy about the move! ????? · 2008-09-05: 23:38
