It helps if you include your camera details, but these are really necessary. The star shift visible in the first happens when exposure times exceed 15 seconds or so because of the earth's rotation. Obviously, you need a tripod or prop to immobilise the camera, but you can try increasing the ISO if using a DSLR and shooting wide open (at maximum aperture). On an aesthetic level, it still looks like coloured dots on black paper! Try including part of the landscape if light pollution levels permit.
