Leeds Uni: Parkinson Building (main building of campus). Here is where the Visual Methods Masterclass was held. The lack of close shots of people in my pictures today reflects my anxiety after one of the lecturers discussed at length the legal implications for those who take photos of people in public spaces in the UK. Ghastly.

the window. I didn't take any pictures of the participants of the visual workshop, because, as everyone knows, sociologists hate being researched, photographers hate being photographed, and filmmakers hate being filmed.

One of the images that come to my mind when I hear 'England'. And, I like 'flat', 2D shots.

too lazy to edit (still too slow on GIMP, which is what I use since I migrated to UBUNTU). I still like this shot, even if it's 90` wrong.

a restaurant/bar. A bit too postmodern / pretentious for me, but nevertheless - what a brilliant idea, to make a cheesy bar in a former church. (e.g. the church has been desacrated - this doesn't mean desacralised as I initially thought; desacrated means a church that has undergone a special formal procedure of being turned into a ordinary building used for non-godly purposes, which is quite a common practice in the UK for various reasons, mostly boiling down to the fact that there are too many churches and too few Christians)

verry English...my eye still gets caught by details like this, although after a year and a half my attention to 'Englishness' has significantly waned.

a little disabled crowd...sweet. I don't care if it's too politically correct. Whatever the rhetorics, I really admire how much more the Brits have done in regard to people with various difficulties in comparison to the total lack of concern back at home.

this is empowering. At least, a little bit. Isn't it?

Multi-storey car park in central Leeds. The city is weird: it has some very pretty 2d half of 19th century architecture (mostly made of red stone, and quite monumental and elaborate), mixed with newer Socialist Roumania style buildings (the Parsons building of Leeds Uni is an example - i'll upload it in a minute) and disgusting grey industrial-looking areas (here).

one of the main streets full of fancy shops. Nothing much to see (for a person like me who cannot understand the appeal of shopping). Nice sunset in the background
