Venice : i colori (4)

2008.04.12
this metal figure looked ridiculous live, but I quite like the picture (taken from a vaporetto (water-bus) at full speed and a mighty x10 zoom!

the best place for a bowl of tulips

new red blocks of flats across the channel. red is the colour of venice (if I were the mayor, I'd probably not allow this kind of modern building development, though)

zoooooming in across the channel

coloured streetlamps, yet another brilliant idea

not a collage

endlessness

цветик-семицветик! (ну, восьми)

the shape of the green jalousies reminded me of the Argonauts, for some reason...any idea?

Who lives this green window?

as you all know, I'm seriously addicted to colours and angles, ...

Venetians might not be able to park their cars in front of their house, as the lovely local guide I bought points out - but come on, they have their boats under their windows. Even if that sounds a bit like Marie-Antoinette's suggestion that peasants eat cakes when they didn't have bread.

Venice looks simultaneously like it's all going to fall apart, and like it'll always be there. Seriously, I cannot imagine a world without a Venice.

hm, I should have edited this one...the original was so much greener. But I've got a lazy Mediterranean soul and can't be bothered to use Gimp/Photoshop.

They were rehearsing so I decided to zoom in instead of getting closer, but was still lnoticed. Pity I couldn't listen to the performance: they were playing Vivaldi the next evening when I would be flying over back to the misty Albion

A luscious schop-window. The shop was still open at 21.30

a timely composition

Abundance of colour. Ignore price tag, unless you are a sociologist.

possibly my favourite shot of all 550. Only the laughter induced by hedera veneta (see previous post) compares to the feeling of exhilaration this sight provoked.

(quote) "Where is my tie! I want my tie!"
(response) "See the caption on picture 21"

buying one or two wouldn't feel the same. Look how pretty they are all together.

The best children's store I've seen: all toys are made of wood and colourful.

happy-looking and colourful prisoners

another of my snapshots stolen through a shop-window late at night

red brick...so different from the UK!

Whoever planted that tree must be a painter
