Tassie Day 6 - Beer Breakfast & Hike

2007.12.21
Outside the Original Boags Entrance, which is now built up.

Where the Boags Tour begins

Because we arrived early we walked around the Boags Museum, which resides on the top two floors

All the boats

I love this old wall which connects the bridge

The Cataract Gorge Bridge

The Cataract Gorge Reserve also does cruise tours but today we decide to do our own tour on foot

Cataract Gorge also does absailing and rockclimbing! Bugger that I am petrified of heights!

School Holidays and local crowd making most of the hot weather and the cool water! Crazy Boys!

Looks like he is walking on water

Here we go Splash!

The views were just terrific

Some seagulls having a rest!

Next to this lake is a swimming pool

I hated coming across the bridge as it bounces!!

This is the motel that reminded me of back home in England before we moved to Australia

Today we had a quiet day and decided to leave the car and explore by foot!

We first had a date with the Boags Brewery where we had a 10.00am tour around the factory which was great a little different to the Cascade Brewery which we had done a few days earlier, we then finished up with beer tastings!! Terrific except I felt a little tipsy and it was only 11.00am LOL!

After grabbing a coffee and something to eat and sobered up lol we headed to Cataract Gorge Reserve, or The Gorge as the locals call it, is a unique natural formation and only a two-minute drive of central Launceston - a rare natural phenomenon in any city and a terrific photo opportunities!

On the way back we went through a Motel, which looked like the houses we grew up with when I was living in England so I had to take a few pics!

jetjackson We too, loved Launceston (could almost move there to live) and Cataract Gorge, and my wife hated the suspension bridge :)

GnatBytes All great shots. I find your photos and narrative very enjoyable; since I have never been to Australia. Maybe one day I will get there.
