What a brilliant idea these fire barrels were. Partially just cause they look awesome, and partially because it was freaking freezing up there... I had never heard of the Arabaki Rock Festival, but I guess it's pretty much the premiere rock event of Golden Week. There were like 25,000 people in attendance at this massive outdoor campground area.
The band's personal trailer for the festival. Fancy.
As with any music festival there will be a certain amount of hippified randomness.
Black Cat Chelsea brought the rock hard even during the midafternoon. Nice work boys.
Their bassist also won the best fashion award by miles. wtf...
The Band Apart. These guys played before TMTS and were ridiculous. I don't know them so well but they put on an awesome show and had the whole crowd (which was huge) going nuts.
My boy Yusuke Chiba from The Birthday who was also in my favorite J-rock band of all time, Thee Michelle Gun Elephant. Seeing him perform from back stage was a major highlight for me.
The Fuzztones brought the pretty good rock action.
Who doesn't love peace right.
This is The Back Horn. They will rock your face off.
I was totally unaware of how big these guys were but they had a whole sea of people losing their shit. Classic.
Yup, that's a crowd surfer over there on the right. One of many.
Lovin it.
Okay wow... Those are tears right there. I mean... just wow...
Yes, you just killed it. Well done sir.
TMTS' spot at the Hanagasa stage (1 of 7 at the festival).
Prep time.
The boys take the stage to bring the rock, Seattle style.
Charlie flexing his rock muscles with a classic base pose.

Woop.
Scott kinda hulkin out.
Love that pose Charles.
Probably around the time he dropped his pick and had to shred his fingers on the strings to get through. Nothing says dedication to rock like bleeding on your guitar.
Awwww yea egg shaker.
This is a great move. Just yes.
Enjoying (?) local sweet soy bean pudding type deserts in celebration of a show well rocked.
Chillin out with the bassist of The Band Apart. He was amazing. He offered us women. Ha!
This being my first glimpse of a backstage scene at a music festival I must say it's a pretty sweet life, free food, free booze, rock stars chillin everywhere you look. Yup, it's goodwork if you can find it.
