Description
The Anschutz Model 1517 is a bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in .17 HMR. The best competitive shooters in national, international and Olympic shooting events commonly use Anschutz rifles. Anschutz introduced the 1517 in 2002 due to the growing popularity of its caliber.
The 1517 uses Anschutz Match 64 action where the bolt lever rotates on a cylinder, which reduces movement when re-chambering. The rifle is available in six sub-models each having specific features such as heavy barrel, short barrel, bench rest shooter, multi purpose, etc. The 1517 can be built specifically for left handed shooters too.
Depending on the sub-model, Anschutz recommends Model 1517 for leisure, sport, competitive shooting, and for hunting varmint or small game.
