Stephans nest carving tells a story of a carpenter with 30 years in the trades that is ready for a new focus and outlet. This walnut piece is a nest made up of found objects, including a construction trailer, a steeple, a window, lockers, a concrete block wall, and other assorted construction remnants. The nest is built an I-beam and within the nest two cedar eggs are hatching. A human foot kicking out the side of one of the eggs tells of the re-birth.
From the scraps of the past there is a re-birth for each of us - a spiritual renewal awaits.
