on the road

2008.04.09
arizona sky. arizona desert.

if you stand under the hearts, you don't have to pay for the air you breathe here.

a gas station just before sun up in junction texas.

the bugs there were huge. a metalic green beetle landed on me, and when i shook him off, i noticed a geyser of gasoline coming out of steve's volvo station wagon because the pump didn't swich off. a couple gallons of gasoline sprayed all over this next little guy before i was able to run over and shut the pump off (after putting out my cigarette).

my boot is size thirteen. yeah, that moth is about the size of a small bird.

the sun finally wakes up the land around fredricksburg.

my whirlwind early morning tour of austin. we were going on zero sleep and gasoline fumes from the accident.

mira didn't sleep either. she looked out the window the entire time she wasn't huddled up on my jacket in the back, trying to eat my candy bar.

kind of dick tracy-ish.

one of the only artsy photos i was able to take.

austin is a huge bike riding town. if you don't have a bike, you're kind of fucked. cars are for jerks.

this is me and steve after veiwing mexico and much of the southwest together. i hardly knew which way was up when we rolled up to the hollywood house.

steve picked me up in phoenix and we drove a straight shot 22 hours through eastern arizona, southern new mexico, and west texas with his dog mira. he gave me a bleary eyed and sleep deprived tour of austin once we got there. he was great company.
