Ode to a Whisper

My first joint effort with my daughter.


A whisper
so slim, so quick in stride
A silvery thread that weaves a connection
between people.

A beautiful, soft as silk sound
that shatters silence with a pin.

Leaving a mystery and
an unanswered question
in its light, rolling wake.

A boat for messages
of joy that brings happiness to the soul
floating on anticipation,
sharing knowledge from the heart with a special
chosen one.

The wonderful gesture of reveling
a lost, buried thought
Tossing a feeling into the air,
directing it all the way.

Letting part of you out
exchanging a trust.
An igniting of a flame
between two people.

A whisper,
like a hug from a corner of society.
A notion of care and confidence
thrown.

The wonderful sound that satisfies
anybody's ears.
A drop of compassion
floating towards you.
