social nirvana

review of the i d sirbu festival, petrila. romanian writer, lived in one old small "miner" town, in the apuseni mountains, valea jiului. negated by the comunists, imprisoned, permanently survieled by the "securitate". one of the best short stories writer. unfortunately keeped obscure, still. his "adio, europa" novel is one of the best about comunism.

as u seen in the august previous photots, this ion barbu grafician makes a one year time festival, where most of the best romanian artists, writers, musicians gather to feast as a festival of not calling the rain of fear.

a great deal here: in the 12 years period of this, the kids of petrila grown with real good models around. now they are students, teachers, artists, writers... imagin a 10k people poor town, where 10% are like this.
