Travelogue Part 12 - The Synagogue of the Ghriba

On the island of Jerba, there is the most sacred Jewish place of North Africa. At this place there has been a working synagogue in existence since 600 BC.

This present building was erected in the 1920's.

I just realized that the same old man was photograhed in the article I attached below to this post. He aged a little since but nothing much is different, including his carry-all bag.

Love the lines and arches in #2. Great localised colours in #1 and the red really offsets the blue in that canvas of white :0
