Soon we are going to lose our Saturday mail delivery in this country...
This is to remember those times when mail was practically the only way to keep in touch with folks back home...it was nerve-wreckingly slow, but boy how important it was to find a letter in there from people we cared about...

Nowadays the mailbox is more of a lawn decoration...and the box mostly contains bills or solicitations from credit card companies and such...

Still we diligently empty it every day, and throw away the junk unread...
|
The pink azaleas took over dominance in the front yard, making the trip to the mailbox enjoyable.

The clematis soon will cover the entire the mailbox.

That is a magnificent trip to the mailbox, and on Saturdays write a letter to a friend and put it in there for Monday.
