Woman With A Loaf of Bread

This statue in Szeged is a piece of art history. I am still researching the name of the artist and exact date of the statue but it is very likely that it is from the early 1960s, and is rendered in the typical robust shapes of socialist realism. (I see a close similarity in styles preferred by totalitarian regimes, e.g. fascist artists and socialist realists left us with the same robust people with very nondescript facial features...)

It would be inconceivable in today's world that idolizes fitness to the point of anorexia to depict that much carbohydrate in a piece...

Looks like the tree got jealous of the big loaf and decided to grow its own...
