Summer Swelter

Hot, humid and those northerly winds that are just miserable unless you're on the coast!

I get home from doing the grocery shopping and find the Christmas tree has finally buckled under the weight of the cardboard leg Matt made in early December (our tree only came with two legs). The leg is a goner, so I think I'll admit defeat and put the tree away today. ;)

(Dinner for one... meat pie and salad - very yummy, I must add!)

It gets to over 40C in Melbourne today. With a lack of air-conditioning, the prospect of it staying hot over the next week isn't all that motivating! The house can cope with 1-2 days of heat, but after that it just takes DAYS to cool down again in the Summer. Sure, this is nice in Winter, but as for Summer... forget about it! (bad house placement on the block).

Only two nights until Matt is back home again - I'm looking forward to having the company again very much! (Considering we originally dated long-distance for a year, any time spent apart now takes it out of me).

We're inland on Mornington Peninsula, and I can assure you, it was hot down here the past couple of days. Going to be a scorcher for New Year.

Sorry but the tree made me laugh.... I think we've ALL had something similar over the years... mine was coming home years ago to a huge tree on it's side due to a bad stand, but it was BEFORE Christmas so I had to put it back up!
