First Scrap of the Year

2008.01.03
Like the title says, the first time in 2008 I've gotten out my scrapbooking stash (which lives in a turquoise-painted cupboard in the spare room). A clean table which will soon be covered in...

... plenty of creative inspiration! Afternoon TV and a fan diverted from cooling the computer is a must! ;)

(Buttons and other such embellishments)

Layout #1 from today - a set of photos we took in July 2005, the one of Matt by himself is a copy of a framed picture which sits on the coffee table near the front door. I especially like the chipboard corners which I painted metallic blue before glueing to the page. :)

Layout #2 - Pictures from Matt's work Christmas party, back in December 2005. It was held at the Melbourne Aquarium, in a room surrounded entirely by fish. It was wonderful! (Sadly, I had nothing 'fishy' in my stash to add to the page).

* * * * *
I scrapped a lot in the first half of last year, but didn't have as much time to commit to craft in the last few months. So I aim to keep being creative during the year, working on a few projects here and there.

(These are just some simple layouts of my own design, nothing too fancy; I have been working on an album to be displayed at our wedding since last year - 17 pages in so far, and nearly finished pictures from 2005. Something tells me that the photos/layouts should be classy, but I'd rather them with plenty of colour and personality!)

paintbox You're still a LOT neater than me. But isn't it fun?

bamommy Great Pics,
Funny thing. I'm starting to scrapbook also. So far I've been using the kits! LOL Just to make it a little easier but I am bound and determine to find a class sometime in Jan. Your pages are very good. Take care

kware your layouts look great! And you have far more patience than I do (painting chipboard) ... if I can't use it right that minute, I usually am too lazy to wait :)

Colby Definitely like those pages! I have some fishy embellishment, because most of my relatives are into fishing. Hehe

????? I love how scrapbooking puts photos together in a storyboard, especially for holidays pics or special event pics or even that one special moment you managed to capture with the camera. I still try to do it for the kids stuff but it's really time consuming! You really have to set aside a whole day for it!

Your set is fantastic btw - I love the low angle on the buttons on the table and the last pic of the last pic where you've captured the motion blur of you standing up to go to the camera is a story in itself!
