(On the shelf at my local library... if you're into British science-fiction, I suggest the 'Destiny's Children' series, it's one of the best series I've read since Tad Williams' 'Otherland' novels).

(New vs. old library card)

An online search of my local library service tells me the next book in the series I'm reading is at a certain branch. Unfortunately this proves not to be the case (or someone has put the book back in the wrong spot... a pet hate of mine!). Luckily, the second branch I travel to has the elusive book, and there is much rejoicing in the village!

I'm finally told that my library card, which has been hanging on for dear life after a couple of accidental cycles in the washing machine, is obselete with their system and I'll need a new one. The librarian smiles when I ask if I can keep my old card, as I've had it for over twenty years and have an emotional attachment with it.

bamommy I'm trying so hard but I only read murder mystery! But I told myself that in 2008 I was going to venture into the biography section.:)

focussed I'm partial to a good crime/thriller novel myself..... Id actually forgotten all about the local library till you posted these...hehe Thanks, might need to get down there. Although with work starting up on Tuesday I don't think I'll have the time or energy to read for a while.
