Cereal Pest

2008.02.11
(enlarge to better read the letter)

(at least they acknowledged me!)

I don't know if I told the story last week of Matt opening a brand new box of cereal, and two moths flying out?

Well, I complained to Nestle and was today sent out a cheque for $10 and a letter addressing my concerns. Although they DID accept that insects in their products were "a known problem" (concerning within itself...), it's still a worry that they continue to nothing about the problem than to keep it quiet.

Queen911 If you don't like something tell 10 people and they will spread the word. Thanks..

darjeeling That is so disgusting... I don't know about in Australia, but in the states we have the Better Business Bureau, and you can make complaints about local and national businesses. That way you could spread the word about this buggy problem. At least you were recompensed, if only for ten dollars.

bamommy That's terrible. I would have complained also. I wonder I they came up with the amount of 10$

jwideman very interesting! that is disturbing. at least they sent you a check for it! we found a lot of dead ants in a cereal box about 10 years ago and all we got was "you can't prove that it happened on our end, so sorry".

focussed I think your over reacting here Rebecca. Didn't you know about the knew Nestle " Crunchy Moth Malt" cereals???!?!?!?

I agree with JOYCE. What tight asses (excuse the language) Will you be boycotting?

BreezyOnTheEyes live moths? i don't know what which is creepiers, dead or alive. either way, ten bucks would not make me feel any better. I'd spend it on a new cereal brand!

You know what...now that I think about it, my brother had a Nestle chocolate bar as a kid with a maggot in it...

Ew. lol

btw, great photos!

Loverman87 Um, was it just the box, or the plastic pouch too? If only the first one, those could get in there at any warehouse IMHO..

AriesTyger Oh that's just lovely. And a check for 10 bucks is supposed to make it better? I'd switch cereal brands if anything came flying, hopping or dancing out my cereal box! LOL! Nice shots though. :)

PaperWings Wow. That is crazy. Here's the question...are you going to purchase that cereal again?
