Friday marked the so-called "luckiest" day on the calendar (and it simply being the end of the work week doesn't count? :P), and also signalled the beginning of the Olympic Games in Beijing. And what an opening ceremony, it was mesmerising!

Australia were the third-last team to march out and I sadly fell asleep just before they came out (it was well past 1am, our time). But Matt prodded me awake and I saw the Australian athletes in a sleepy daze before nodding off again...
