It was a strange moment this afternoon when my current Director said her goodbyes, gave me a hug and left to embark on her new job at another Kindergarten. As we were the last two staff left in the building for the day (a big clean-up time), that left me and an eerie silence to fill the empty playroom.
The realisation washed over me that this was my Kindergarten now, and that everything that happened from this moment on was my responsibility. Very sombre indeed, it was as if another little weight was applied to my already-burdened shoulders. Still, I think this is going to work out really well for me... especially if I can get my act together and really start running this place.
Time will tell.... :)
