Billets!

2008.01.08
To get in the christmas spirit Erica and I bought tickets to Le Messie, or Handle's Messiah. This is the Chatlet theater.

Enourmous choir, maybe 200 singers

The theater has this crazy modern painting on the inside but it looks like its painted on the outside . . .

One of several waiting rooms

The four solos were great. Can you tell which one is the soprano?

Hôtel de ville (city hall). I realize now this is the only photo I have of it. I got to go inside on the patrimone weekend, its beautiful.

In the winter they set up an ice rink, and a giant igloo!

Oops, its sideways. This is the theater from the outside.

Two nights later I went to the opening night of Paquita, a ballet about a gypsy girl who discovers shes a princess and marries the prince and is an amzing dancer. It was at Opera, which I had been dying to go to.

Part of the reason its so spectacular is because Chagall painted the ceiling! Hope to get some better photos later, my friend Brooke has a bunch.

The costumes, sets, dancing . . . man. It made me want to dance!
