The Southwest Passage

Today's bicycle mission was to find the "southwest passage" - a bicycle route from my house in SW Austin to downtown. The goal was to avoid all major roads and find a reasonably safe back route. Armed with a handful of printed google maps, I set out with a goal of getting across the Ben White freeway (round trip about 20 miles). I knew from there to downtown would be no problem cycling through the older neighborhoods of South Austin.

When I saw this sign, I knew I would make it.
