Yeah, i agree with the above poster.... dairy seems like such a horrible idea!! I used to drink flat ginger ale when I was little and not feeling well.... other than that I'm usually pretty bad and avoid all food except broth...

I heard about coke... at home some people would cook rice in a lot of water and drink the water (I don't think you have to drink all of it :))) more seriously, I'm not sure yoghourt is a good idea !!! banana but no acid fruits. I hope you'll be fine soon !

Chicken soup - well, actually, plain chicken broth, with a little bit of small soup pasta in it - works wonders. Anything plain is good, so avoid dairy (apart from yoghurt), too much sugar or rich food. Mint is also good, in some tea. Also, acidophilus powder of any sort really helps to get you better - and works well as a preventative once you are. it's in yoghurt (which is why the doc told you to have it) but the powder is much stronger concentration and works to line the tummy to stop you getting worse and to make you feel better. And of course, plenty of water - you might be dehydrated a little. Why do I know so much? Lol hehehe I was hospitalised after our Vanuatu holiday in November last year: contracted acute bacterial infection of the tummy (awful salmonella) and was bed-ridden for a month. The powder is what gave me my tummy back when I was recuperating :) Hope you start to feel better xox

haha - i LOVE your mom's comment! i alway thought dairy was the worst thing to eat when you had an upset stomach because it's hard to digest... i have a LOT of stomach problems - so the foods i find work best are plain rice cakes/toast, very simple soup (something without a lot of fiber, that can be hard on your stomach too), jello, ginger is supposed to be really good for your stomach, ginger ale (although bubbles upset my stomach, but helps other people's sometimes). i find things like bananas can sometimes help, but most fruit is also kind of hard on the tummy. hope something helps!

Jambalaya and shrimp creole with plenty of Louisiana hot sauce, (from New Iberia). Viruses start haulin it as soon as they see the fork coming.

In addition - cool peppermint tea for the little one- or hot for you(Peppermint is good for stomach upset. What do you think pepto bismal is based on?) and jello water (for protein) and white pop - flat white pop for the little one. Those 3 things above should help too. All things pass...some just pass a little faster than others ;-) Signed, the witch doctor!

Seriously....bananas, yogurt, and cheese? Very strange suggestion for stomach virus. I would suggest chicken broth, saltine crackers, and ginger ale.

Rice water! You cook rice (suriname, not Uncle ben's) in much water, then, you drink the "water'.

Wow! Hope you will feel better soon! Since I don't know exactly what the problem is, I am not sure about the good advice...Warm milk, yoghurt with red fruits,,,I think it depends on each organism actually...
