Gotta Get the Shot

My mom and I went shooting together last Friday. We took the kids to the Railroad Museum about 10 miles from where I live.

Now this is MY story and I'm sticking to it.


After shooting the kids for about 35 minutes on all the rail cars we started to leave when all of a sudden my mom said "Hey Al, could you stop so I can get out and take a few more shots"

Being the wonderful daughter that I am, I stopped to let my darling mother out the car. I looked on with amazement at all the old rail cars and how beautiful they were. How I wish I could get out and shoot too........................................................................


Then it hit me....I was green with envy......I want the shot… I gotta get the shot.........but who will watch the kids?

My daughter must have seen the disappointing look on my face and quickly said "Mommy, I'll watch Braden if you want to take a couple of pictures!

"Thanks Katie!" I quickly dashed out the car and started running towards the trains so that I could hurry up, get the shot, and get back to my vehicle.

As I'm literally running, I look back and my mom is running after me! Yes she was really running after me! LOL

"Go back and watch the kids. I gotta get the shot"

And she yelled "No you go back"

By this time we are both running and laughing hysterically. It was as if we were the paparazzi trying to get a shot of Brad Pitt or Denzel Washington.

Our cameras and photoblog have turned us into crazy people. :)

Anyway, of course being the bigger adult my mom went back to the car with the kids while I finished taking my pictures. That's a mom for ya'!

It's funny, as I think about my life and all the good times I've had with my mom, this had to be one of the best days! It's been quite a while since I've laughed so hard. Thanks mom.
