My first teenage love

To my suprise when we arrived in Iowa I found out Kanye West, Rhianna, and Lupa Fiasco were performing that night!

Anyone that really really really knows me knows that music (especially hip-hop) is the love of my life.

It probably all started when I was about 12. Sneaking outside late at night to listen to cassette tapes in my mom's car. I would spend hours in our driveway just listening to music. (Couldn't play it inside the house because ............well you all remember.....parents just don't understand.

Then about the time I was 14 I met a friend who could rap, dj and taught me EVERYTHING about beats, turntables, and the rap game.

It wasn't all about violence, disrespecting women, sex, and drugs. THAT WAS MAIN STREAM RAP! (or what the media wanted to portray to the public)

Most of what I loved was underground or sometimes unsigned hype. It was an art form. It was about life, the flow of the artist, and the meaning of the song.

Now I will say that hip-hop has changed and so have I . I'm older, wiser, and have my own children but good music is good music.

And I know Kanye is a little crazy but if you look beyond that and appreciate his music you'll come to find out that he is a phenomenal artist.

Now for me it's all about live music. I could literally enjoy any type of music concert with live instraments and a good performer.
