Very sad. #1 would make a good matted shot. I like #2 and your perspective on #4 too. Are they specific gravestones or random?

What a touching idea - I am sure she would be pleased to receive your photography and have something more permanent than flowers to keep as a tribute to her mother! So thoughtful Allison!

Is she Irish? That's a celtic cross. If it was me, and I am Irish, I would like the cross pics with an inscription at the bottom of mat that had something like "in memory of xxx and dates of birth and death" in calligraphy or something. If I wasn't Irish, I don't know what I'd think. I would love the thought. I do know that.
