Another year starts with Project 365! I ended up with 307 posts for 2008 so I'm pretty proud of myself. This year I want to do even better.
Along with Project 365 I want to start an adventure of taking pictures of strangers and asking them one simple question.
"What are your hopes for 2009?"
I want to get at least 100 or more photos and then self publish a book just to have as something cool for my friends and family to look at.
So this is my first "subject". I was driving in downtown Lexington today and saw a gentleman washing the outside windows of his home. This particular house was a blue-ish brick and looked historic yet artistic all in one.
I told the man about my developing project and asked if he would allow me to take his photo. He was extremely nice and we talked about the "question".
"What are your hopes for 2009?" I asked
"Well I really don't think in terms of long aspiring goals. I would have to say that in 2009 I will set my goals low so that they are attainable!" he answered.
Thanks George for letting me take your photo and answering my question! I really appreciate it.

You are very ambitious and creative. I can't wait to get my book.
What a cool idea and project! Good luck to you! Strangers are really hard for me to shoot, you are inspiring!
I have thought about doing the 100 faces project, this sounds like an interesting spin off of that. Great first subject, he seems like a unique character.
What a great idea - I've heard about doing a similar kind of project to try and get comfortable with taking photos of strangers... I don't think I am brave enough yet... I'll have to work on it! :)
What a great idea! Good luck with the project, can't wait to see what you come up with. This will also be a REALLY good way to practice portraits, which I personally find very difficult!
This sounds like a great project - I'm not very comfortable taking pictures of strangers but I would love to try something like this. Great first shot.
