It's hard to believe that it's been a year since we've packed up our U-Hall and made our journey from Portland, OR to Hillsboro, KS. It has been a year filled with surprised, adventures and incredible blessing. God has been very good to us!

Ive learned a lot since moving to Kansas...
~Sunsets and sunrises here are as amazing as the sunsets in Africa or Puerta Vallarta ~The most amazing thunder and lightening storms that i've ever seen have been here in Kansas. ~Culture is so very different in the mid west than in the NW ~People here are very friendly and want to make you feel welcome ~Being a nurse is a lot of hard work and sometimes long hours ~Each college has a culture of it's own. Never make assumptions as to what a 'Christian liberal arts' college may mean. ~i don't have to lock my house or my car doors when i am here in town. it's take me almost a year to be okay with this. Funny story~ often at the grocery store/bank/post office people will keep their cars running as they go about their business or they just leave the keys in it. I still haven't been able to do that. ~God is good!!! He is faithful!! ~taking time to pray and read God's word is more important than going running ~Even a nurse has to face ethical issues and figure out what to do. My facebook status says i am trying to figure out the world of medical ethics. This field intrigues me and at the same time keeps me awake at night thinking and frusterated by my lack of answers ~death is hard, even when i am just a nurse ~running is a gift from God ~people who genuinely love God are the people we have blessed our lives this year in ways we could never imagine. ~Knowing Christ makes all the difference ~date night and road trips with Matt is what i look forward to most in a week. ~Life is a journey and an adventure careful about assumptions and judgements things are not always as they seem ~ the words to John Mayer's song "Say" (it plays in the movie 'Bucket List') sometimes we only get once chance to say what we need to say~and i don't always know when it's my one chance... |
