Waterfire

Pretty full Memorial Day Weekend ... we actually went to Waterfire on May 23rd, late on Saturday night, but I'm spacing out my entries here. May 22 we had dinner with my parents for mom's birthday

Waterfire is a wonderful display of bonfires through the river in downtown Providence, Rhode Island. The music and smell of woodsmoke, plus the ambiance of people from all walks of life chilling quietly and staring at the water, make this an incredibly pleasant and beautiful spectacle, although really hard to photograph!!

We picked up Maureen at the last minute, and she and her camera took in Waterfire for the first time

I had recommended Waterfire to Hannah and Jon, who were in town for the weekend, so we managed to meet up with them for 10 minutes before we continued on and they headed home to rest up before an early flight. Always great to see Hannah, even just for 10 minutes :)
