Isabella's Addition

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum (where I have been volunteering for five years) has laid the foundation work for a spectacular addition to the museum. The addition, designed by world-renowned architect Renzo Piano, will allow the museum to have a larger gift shop, cafe, special exhibition room and concert hall. These amenities will alleviate the stress that Isabella's palace endures as the number of visitors continues to increase. I'm really excited to watch this project as it develops, and to continue to participate in conversations about the roles of the volunteers in the new building!
