Mel's family

Melissa's sister, her husband and their son were in town for a wedding, so Melissa had them over for dinner afterward - our first real dinner party at the new house!!

Mel's nephew was bored out of his mind with all of the adult conversation, so he grabbed one of the little books off of the shelf - he was flipping through my little Norman Rockwell book, showed me one of the pages and said 'I want to paint this!' :) Warmed my little heart. I showed him a larger Rockwell book, and he insisted I help him paint of the pictures. I told him that painters start with preparatory drawings, so he perched at our new table with a set of colored pencils (and cake) and I helped him make a drawing from the picture while the 'adults' talked about adult stuff. It was super cute.

Yes, we were watching Aladdin
