We don't waste any time after getting off the plane in Kona. Driving to the other side of the island, we stop at Tex Drive-In for their famous malasadas (Portuguese donuts). Here, we sample guava, pineapple, apple, and custard filled pastries and understand why they're famous.

Today, we're off on a week long trip to the Big Island of Hawaii. As with every trip, we're always eager to try local foods. We're going to fill our tummies (and suitcases!) with great food adventures, but unfortunately, I can only post and share a few a day...
