New Features and Fixes

So some of you have already noticed the new changes to the site. There haven't been changes for a few weeks now. I've been very busy with work, so when I get home the last thing I want to see is my laptop. Also I was designing a major change that took up a lot of my time. So here is a quick run down of what was changed

1) Image notes
2) Moved the favorites and enlarge image
3) Anonymous comments

So image notes allows the entry owner to place notes on each image. Others can view them by hovering their mouse over the image and then over the boxes in the image. A owner can edit and delete their notes also. In the future I might make it so the owner can allow members to add image notes.

So I moved the favorites link over to the right. I didn't like how I had it before and I would guess most people didn't either. You will also see the option to enlarge is just above it also on the right.

You can now set your preferences to allow anonymous comments if you choose to. By default anonymous comments will not be allowed till you change the setting.

Now there has been a major speed change in the code for loading up images. There was a bug I found in the code that sent each image to our main server from the image server to check the size. Then that image was sent to you. So in theory it took twice as long to load then it should have and was a waste of bandwidth on our part. So this should be cleared up.

Enjoy the new features and have fun photoblogging.

I appreciate the new features, although I'd suggest that image enlargement should still be possible by simply clicking on the image. I'm very used to that and I found myself clicking on images all day today...
Maybe the icons could be placed somewhere else (after the title, maybe)? I feel they somewhat distract from the image...
Anyways, nice work, keep it up :)

Icons on the right don't seem to work on FireFox 2.0.2 not sure about other versions.

Ah, sorry. When using FireFox, Enable Java has to be unchecked, for new icons to work. Not entirely sure why. Could be because FireFox 2.0.2 doesn't support JRE 6 yet.

I have also another suggestion. When photo is enlarged, then it would be great if there were PREVIOUS and NEXT buttons, that would change dates. I mean when you open someone's photos, then you can very easily go to previous day photos by just one click.

At the moment previous and next buttons appear only for the same day photos (when you have several photos).
Then there could be 2 different Previous and Next buttons !?

Thanks for all you do to make this a fun site. I agree with the other blogger that the small icons to the right of the photo is distracting. Maybe under the photo?
