I wasn't in a good mood today. I spent a lot of the morning thinking about home, which is the worst thing to do in a hotel room far away.
I got out of the hotel and found the Anthropology Museum at the University of British Columbia. The parking lot I found had meters that would allow me an hour in the museum, but I couldn't find anywhere to park so I could stay at the museum for the afternoon. I gave up and headed back to my hotel.
If there are any urban planners reading this, I know there are good reasons to give people disincentives for using cars, but are you really trying to prevent out of town visitors from getting to museums?
I walked from my hotel to Burnaby's Central Park and found this forest. The tallest part is the large conifers, with a deciduous middle story, and all sorts of stuff at the ground level.
