We departed the Hampton Inn in Provo and drove east on Route 189. The first thing we passed was the football stadium for Brigham Young University (BYU). They play some excellent football here.
We've heard that the canyons east of Provo are beautiful at this time of the year but from here things look a bit stark.
Entering the Provo Canyon we pass a weathered building on the mountainside that appears to be part of an old hydroelectric plant to me.
We see some very interesting landforms and the beginning of the fall colors we've heard so much about.
Here's what we really came for...Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon. The falls are 607 feet high and are spring fed so they have water year-round.
The falls are on the south side of the canyon. Here's what the north side looks like behind our backs as we photograph the falls.
