Leaving Canada & Seeing Idaho For The First Time

2009.07.03

Purcell Mountains of southeast British Columbia which we could see just to the west of Boulder. What a beautiful sight to look at every morning when we left the hotel.

Gas was only $1.11 but of course that was per liter so it wasn't as cheap as you might think the first time you see the sign!

We followed the mountain range all the way down.

This is Radium Hot Springs where we saw the big horn sheep the day we first came into town. The Columbia River flows right next to town.

We had lunch here twice in Radium Hot Springs since the food was so good.

I'm not certain but I am thinking that these are some detection machines.

The border was very apparent on the side of the hill!

We left Golden, British Columbia in the morning and headed for Idaho. We stopped in Radium Hot Springs to have lunch at the Grizzley Mountain Grill. We made a stop in Cranbrook to get souveniors at the Canadian Superstore which is kind of like a Walmart. We decided to leave Canada through Idaho since we had never seen the state before. The northern part of Idaho wasn't all that impressive but I must say that Coeur d'Alene Lake was hugh, it took forever to get past it.
