Il Museo Galileo (ex Museo di Storia della Scienza) di Firenze si trova in piazza dei Giudici, appena dietro il piazzale degli Uffizi, nel Palazzo Castellani, un severo edificio medievale a tre piani. Conserva una delle raccolte scientifiche più importanti a livello nazionale e internazionale.

L'8 giugno 2010, dopo una chiusura di due anni per lavori di ristrutturazione, il Museo della Storia della Scienza ha riaperto al pubblico con il nuovo nome di "Museo Galileo". L’inaugurazione coincide con il 400º anniversario del Sidereus Nuncius, l'opera pubblicata nel marzo 1610 con la quale Galileo Galilei divulgò le sensazionali novità mostrategli dal cannocchiale.
